Ito's Hand Painting Process

In her Atelier, Ito plays with the transparency and layering of colors that comes with her watercolor medium. The unpredictable nature of watercolor lends itself to spontaneity, giving her pieces a living, breathing quality.

Ito personally experiments with colors and tones to obtain the perfect shade for each textile, working with trusted dyeing artisans she has worked with for decades.

Deep-colours are created by skilled dye technicians and printing is done in small batches to ensure quality

A laborious process made possible by artisans with decades of experience, with quality checks to ensure accurate colour shades.
